On January 8, AFPC Kraemer Strategy Fellow Jeff M. Smith traveled to Beijing and Hainan island with an AFPC delegation led by former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Richard Myers, to hold meetings with senior Communist Party officials to conduct research for a book he is writing on Sino-Indian relations. Smith stayed in Beijing several days after the delegation departed to conduct one-on-one interviews with officials in Beijing.
